Behavior Coach Job Description

JOB TITLE: District Behavior Coach 

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Pupil Personnel

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

Valid Kentucky teacher certification OR Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field.

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES The District Behavior Coach will assist teachers, counselors, administrators and parents with strategies, skills, and practices that will be beneficial in serving students with behavioral challenges.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engage in professional development to enhance personal professional knowledge and skills
• Support the implementation of  Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) in all tiers

 

• Support the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) by assisting teams in screening students and then developing appropriate interventions for students

 

• Support teachers and counselors in implementing social emotional learning in classrooms as part of Tier 1 instruction

 

• Provide coaching and professional development to staff in the areas of social-emotional learning and student behavior 

 

• Work with teachers, counselors, school administrators, and district leadership to support schools in addressing behaviors that impede learning
• Lead professional development training as requested
• Coordinate with community resources as needed
• Perform all other duties, as assigned, by the Superintendent and/or designee
